Description
This page showcases all the games students made during their minor program Game Design & Development at the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences.
History
Early historyIn September 2007 four teachers at the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences (Rene Slootweg, Bob Pikaar, Geoff van den Ouden and Rob Zoeteweij) decided to combine their passion for education and games. They started a year long minor program for students focussed on developing real time systems. A small group of around 10 students started this program with a few hours of education each week and delivered their first game Massaker about half a year later. The game, a Half-Life Full Mod, was a major succes because of it's close combat gameplay and humorous setting spawning comments on message boards all the way over in Japan!
After thatThe program evolved into the Minor Game Design & Development and student numbers surpass 42 participants each year. We now offer students half a year of full time game development in our virtual company EZGames. They produce great games that get played all over the world and win industry awards. A small selection is available on this site to give you an impression of the minor's content. Maybe your next game will be too? Contact us if you're interested in joining our program!
